In May of 2015 I was elected as the new President of MTACA, the Music Teachers Association of Central Arkansas. My two-year term began on June 1, 2015.

According to its Constitution, MTACA "is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes and provides programs that encourage and support teaching, performance, and scholarly research, as well as promoting the professional growth and development of its members...".

You may already be familiar with the events MTACA produces for students, notably the Piano Stampede, Playathon, Sonatina/Safari Festival. State competitions (ASMTA) are also accessible through our teachers. We also encourage our students to participate in musical events at UALR, including the Piano & Strings Festival and the Honors Recital.

MTACA also awards three scholarships each year: the Inspiration Point Music Camp Scholarships, the College Scholarship, and the Teacher-Student Scholarship (for families who can't afford lessons).
